Dios tiene la Última Palabra
Testimonio de Luz Emily Rosa
Era el año 1987 y poco tiempo después de su matrimonio, una joven en sus tempranos 20 años quedó embarazada por primera vez. Durante sus primeras 28 semanas de embarazo todo fue normal y sin complicaciones. Ella hizo todo lo debido e iba regularmente a sus citas prenatales con su médico. Sin embargo, un día la semana 28, ella se sintió mal, débil y mareada. Mientras esta joven mujer estaba siendo trasladada al hospital local de su pueblo, los paramédicos tomaron sus signos vitales y la examinaron. Ellos decidieron que debería ser llevada al hospital regional a 34.6 kms (21.47 millas), a unos 27 minutos de donde vivía. Al llegar al hospital Regional descubrieron que estaba sufriendo un ataque de pre-eclampsia y que ella necesitaría atención y equipos especializados que ellos no tenían. Decidieron enviarla al Hospital Universitario del Área Metropolitana, a otros 25.7 kms (aproximadamente 20 millas) y 16 minutos más de donde estaban. Mientras tanto, en el tercer hospital, determinaron que ella necesitaba una cesárea de emergencia para darles la oportunidad de mantener con vida a la criatura.
El día 27 de abril de 1988 nació Luz Emily (nombre adaptado del segundo nombre de la madre y del nombre de su padre). La criatura pesó sólo 2 libras y 14 onzas y media con una estatura de 17 pulgadas. Tan pequeña que cabía en las dos palmas de la mano del equipo médico. Luz (o Emily como nos gusta llamarla) fue puesta en una incubadora con varios tubos y cables conectada a ella.
Durante los primeros días, su padre tuvo que estar subiendo y bajando entre cuidado intensivo y cuidado intensivo pediátrico, ya que su madre estaba siendo tratada por sus ataques de pre-eclampsia.
Su padre, siendo un hombre temeroso de Dios, recurrió a la oración (el arma más poderosa del creyente) y junto a sus amigos y familiares en todo Estados Unidos comenzaron a clamar a Dios. Su rutina diaria era del trabajo al hospital al altar de la iglesia.
Unos días más tarde se le daría de alta a la madre, pero sin su hija. Ella permanecería en el hospital hasta que el equipo médico determinara que había llegado a un peso saludable. Dado a las complicaciones de su nacimiento, un lado de su cuerpecito, su pulmón y riñón no se desarrollaron en tu totalidad. Más adelante sería diagnosticada con hidrocefalia, una condición donde los líquidos de su cabeza se acumulan al punto que la cabeza comienza a crecer hasta que no se puede soportar y causa la muerte. A sus padres se les dio una opción. Los doctores les dijeron que podrían implantar una válvula en su cabecita (shunt) con un tubo que bajaba hasta su sistema digestivo para tratar de soltar algo de los líquidos. Sus padres no tuvieron otra opción que aceptar tan delicada cirugía a tan temprana edad en la vida de la criatura.
Además de esta condición, Emily sufría de asma. Esto era resultado de la situación de su pulmón y también sufrió de convulsiones durante sus primeros años. Sus ojos se iban hacia atrás y convulsaba expulsando babas por su boca. Cada vez que había un episodio como tal, sus padres pensaban que iba a morir. Como resultado de su asma, sus padres tenían que cargar con una máquina de terapia respiratoria dondequiera que iban. Emily pasaría más tiempo en los hospitales que en su casa durante sus primeros años de su vida. Fue muy difícil para sus padres; sin embargo, su fe se mantuvo fuerte.
Emily no anduvo hasta la edad de cuatro años con la ayuda de unos aparatos plásticos y un equipo dedicado del Long Island College Hospital en Brooklyn donde ella se crió.
Al llegar el tiempo de ir a la escuela, se determinó que tenía retraso de desarrollo (Developmental Delay), una condición donde el intelecto no está a la par con la edad cronológica. Por tal razón, Emily asistiría a Educación Especial. Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, Emily tenía buenas notas y sobresalía en todas sus clases.
Moviéndonos hacia adelante unos 30 años más tarde, Emily es parte del grupo de adoración de su iglesia local Ella ha sido mentora de otras jóvenes durante sus años de escuela superior. Ha sido maestra de escuela dominical. Ella ha sido de bendición para todos los que han estado en contacto con ella. Emily siempre ha tenido una palabra de aliento cuando más se ha necesitado. Cuando entra en una habitación, ella la alumbra con su sonrisa y carisma siempre presentes.
Si Dios pudo hacerlo con ella, lo puede hacer con usted. Él es nuestro Sanador. El llevó nuestros pecados y enfermedades en la Cruz, Isaías 53:5. “Mas él herido fue por nuestras rebeliones, molido por nuestros pecados; el castigo de nuestra paz fue sobre él, y por su llaga fuimos nosotros curados”. Jesús sabe como se siente el dolor y el sufrimiento. Él lo hizo por nosotros. Por lo tanto, Él sanará al enfermo, no importa la enfermedad. Mateo 9:35 ”Recorría Jesús todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.” No importa cuál sea su enfermedad, no importa el diagnóstico, no importa lo que haya dicho el médico. Dios tiene la última Palabra. Él hará un camino donde no hay, Él abrirá puertas cuando aún están selladas. Apocalipsis 3:8. “…he puesto delante de ti una puerta abierta, la cual nadie puede cerrar…” Créele a Dios por su sanidad. Confíe que Él obrará a su favor. “7 Pedid, y se os dará; buscad, y hallaréis; llamad, y se os abrirá.” Mateo 7:7.
Si aún no has recibo al Señor en su vida, ahora es mejor tiempo que nunca. Todo lo que tienes que hacer es una simple oración. Dios reconozco que soy pecador. Perdóname. Creo que Jesucristo murió por mí y pagó mi precio. Te acepto como mi Salvador Personal. Hazme uno de los tuyos. Lo siguiente que debes hacer es leer la Biblia y buscar una Iglesia donde se predique el verdadero evangelio.

God has the Last Word
Testimony of Luz Emily Rosa
It was in 1987 and shortly after her marriage, a young woman in her early twenties became pregnant for the first time. During her first 28 weeks of pregnancy everything was normal and uncomplicated. She did everything she had to do and regularly went to her prenatal appointments with her doctor. However, one day on week 28, she felt unwell, weak and dizzy. While this young woman was being taken to the local hospital of her city, paramedics took her vital signs and examined her. They decided she should be taken to the regional hospital 34.6 kms (21.47 miles), about 27 minutes from where she lived. Arriving at the Regional Hospital they discovered that she was suffering from a pre-eclampsia attack and that she would need care and specialized equipment that they did not have. They decided to send her to the University Hospital of the Metropolitan Area, another 25.7 kms (approximately 20 miles) and 16 more minutes more than where they were. While she was at the third hospital, they determined that she needed an emergency C-section to give them a chance to keep the infant alive.
On April 27, 1988 Luz Emily (adapted from the mother’s middle name and her father’s name) was born. The infant weight was only 2 pounds and 14 ounces and a half, with a length of 17 inches. So small that it fit in both palms of the medical team’s hand. Luz (or Emily as we like to call her) was put in an incubator with several tubes and cables connected to her.
For the first few days, her father had to be going up and down between intensive care and pediatric intensive care, as her mother was being treated for her pre-eclampsia attacks. His father, being a God-fearing man, turned to prayer (the believer’s most powerful weapon) and together with his friends and family throughout the United States began to cry out to God. His daily routine was from work from to hospital to church altar.
A few days later the mother would be discharged, but without her daughter. She would remain in the hospital until the medical team determined that she had reached a healthy weight. Given the complications of her birth, one side of her body, her lung and kidney did not develop entirely. She would later be diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition where fluids from her head accumulate to the point that the head begins to grow until it cannot be endured and causes death. Her parents were given a choice. Doctors told them they could implant a valve into her little head (shunt) with a tube that went down to her digestive system to try to release some of the fluids. Her parents had no choice but to accept such delicate surgery at such an early point in the infant’s life.
In addition to this condition, Emily suffered from asthma. This was a result of the situation of her lungs and also suffered from seizures during her early years. Her eyes would go back and she convulsed, drooling through her mouth. Every time there was an episode as such, her parents thought she was going to die. As a result of her asthma, her parents had to carry a respiratory therapy machine wherever they went. Emily would spend more time in hospitals than at home during her early life. It was very difficult for her parents; however, their faith remained strong.
Emily did not walk until the age of four with the help of plastic devices and a dedicated team at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn where she was raised. When the time came to attend school, it was determined that she had developmental delay, a condition where the intellect does not pair with her chronological age. For this reason, Emily would attend Special Education. However, despite this, Emily had good grades and excelled in all her classes.
Moving forward some 30 years later, Emily is part of her local church worship group. She has mentored other young people during her high school years. She’s been a Sunday school teacher. She has been a blessing to all who have been in contact with her. Emily has always had a word of encouragement when needed the most. When she enters a room, she brightened it with her ever present smile and charisma.
If God could do it with her, he can do it with you. He’s our Healer. He carried our sins and sicknesses on the Cross, Isaiah 53:5. “But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed”. Jesus knows how pain and suffering feel. He did it for us. Therefore, He will heal the sick, no matter the disease. Matthew 9:35″ “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” No matter what your illness is. No matter what your condition is, no matter what the diagnosis is, it doesn’t matter what your doctor has said. God has the last Word. He will make a way where there is none, He will open doors when they are still sealed. Revelation 3:8. “I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it…” Believe God for his healing. Trust that He will work on your behalf. “Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek, and ye shall find, call, and it shall be opened unto you” Matthew 7:7.”
If you have not yet received the Lord in your life, now is as good a time as ever. All you have to do is say a simple prayer. God I recognize that I am a sinner. Forgive me. I believe Jesus Christ died for me and paid my price. I accept you as my Personal Savior. Make me one of yours. The next thing you need to do is read the Bible and look for a Church where the true gospel is preached.
